Roulette Variations

There are several variations of Roulette, and in this Casino Games World article, we would like to tell you a little bit about each of those variations. The casino game of Roulette has an interesting history and has been played in several forms for hundreds of years. The casino games were first introduced late in the 18th Century in Europe and for the most part has remained the same throughout the years. The game is played with anywhere from one to eight players who make wagers on where they think that the ball will land once the wheel has stopped spinning. Each of the players have their own color of chip so that the dealer can easily tell their bets apart. After the bets have been placed and the dealer says, "No more bets", the wheel is spun in one direction and the ball is spun in the opposite direction. When the ball falls into its final resting place, the winner is announced and paid and the game continues.

European Roulette by Casino Games World
European Roulette is played with a Roulette Wheel that has 37 slots. These slots are numbered
1 through 36 with a single zero slot . Having only this single zero slot allows this Roulette Game to offer slightly better odds than American Roulette.

American Roulette by Casino Games World
American Roulette is the most well known and the most popular of the different versions of Roulette. It is played with both a zero and a double zero slot making 38 slots on the wheel. The odds are not quite as much in the players’ favor in American Roulette as they are in European Roulette, but nonetheless, this version is offered in more casinos than any other version of the game.
French Roulette is a single zero version of the game that offers a slight change in regards to the payout rules. In this game, players will lose only half of their even money bet if the wheel lands on the zero. This is called the "La Partage Rule"
